Road Trip Day #4: Flying boat crash in Elounda bay

As I mentioned, Spinalonga had a great collection of old photographs and some informative panels in Greek and English. I was greatly intrigued by this photograph.

This is a picture of a plane crash that happened in Elounda Bay on the 22nd of August 1936.

The bay was apparently used as a staging post by British sea-planes flying a route from the UK to India. This one obviously never made it.
