"Yours Truly, Angry Austrian Mob"
One of the highlights of my recent trip to the UK was picking up the new CDs by Idlewild, Kaiser Chiefs and LCD Soundsystem.
Well, actually, it would have been a highlight, if I hadn't skimped on the cost and elected to get them all sent in one bumper delivery from Amazon, without realising that the LCD SOundsystem album didn't actually come out until after I had left the UK. Which meant I ended up with none of them. Ho hum.
So, I've now got a few weeks to wait until I get my new music - and during that wait every single day I will be teased about my lack of Kaiser Chiefs album by the wood-carving illustrated left.
The Kaiser Chief's new album, for those that don't know, is called "Yours Truly, Angry Mob":
This wood-cut is in the lobby of our guest house, and we used to joke that, although it was probably meant to depict a typical rural Austrian scene, it actually looks like the proverbial black'n'white horror movie angry village mob setting off to hunt a werewolf, track down a vampire, or burn a witch.
But now to me it just looks like they are on their angry way to find the village idiot who didn't check the release dates properly before ordering CDs on Amazon.
