Happy Birthday to me

Happy 28th Birthday to me! For those who don't know yesterday I celebrated my birthday. Part of my birthday extravaganza was staying in the nice hotel down the road from stinky hollow.

My birthday began with a nice hot bath which is a treat in itself, as stinky hollow only has a shower. Then I opened all my cards and presents, which friends and family had so kindly sent to me. I was thrilled with all the well wishes, books, crafty things and jewellery that had been sent my way.

Unfortunately I had to send Martin off to work, but I still enjoyed the day on my own sauntering around Salzburg. I was lucky that the weather was the best it had been for weeks, and I even managed to enjoy coffee and a slice of birthday cake outside in the sun.

Obviously Salzburg's dog population knew it was my birthday as they were out in force. As most of you know, as a dog obsessive, it makes me happy just to have strange dogs trailling round, snuffling at my feet.

After a full day of window shopping, cake and doggies, I went back to the hotel to get ready for our night out. I'd booked at table at Alter Fuchs. This is a traditional pub/restaurant which we've tried to get into before but has always been fully booked.

We had a lovely evening, however the food wasn't as impressive as we expected, considering how expensive it was. Pudding, however, did what it said on the tin, and all was forgiven after stuffing my face with pancakes, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.

Thank you to everybody who was kind enough to remember my birthday and took the time to send a little something in the post to me. I felt like a very special birthday girl.
