Champagne breakfast at the Steinterrasse

Satsteinterrasse It seems incredible to us, but last Saturday it was exactly a year since we left our old home in Walthamstow, East London, and set off on our adventure. At the time we had no idea where we would end up living, and how long we would be travelling for. Although I'm working again, having been in Chania for a few months, and now living in Salzburg, it is like the adventure has never ended.

We celebrated in style on Saturday morning by skipping straight into town on the bus, and going for breakfast on the Steinterrasse. We've been to this open-air breakfast place on a Salzburg hotel roof before for coffee, but this time we went for the weekend buffet - which came complete with a glass of sparkling wine for us to toast our adventure. The spread was pretty impressive, with smoked salmon, and bacon and eggs joining the usual selection of fruits, cereals, meats, cheeses and breads from around these parts. At €15 each it wasn't cheap, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

In fact, it was the start of a lovely day packed with lots of things to do. Once we had tucked in to our heart's content at the Steinterrasse, we set of to walk from Salzburg to Schloss Hellbrun.
