Anaynostes Skalides statue in Plateia 1866

05statueskalides

The statue of Anagnostes Skalides (Αναυνωστης Σκαλιδης) in Plateia 1866 is another one that I have not been able to find out anything about. Reading from the plinth he was a general and leader in Kissamos, but that is all I have been able to discover about him.

He must have been pretty important though, as one of the main streets that leads from Plateia 1866 is also named after him

Skalidis was a great man... A small part of of his deeds you can find here (in Greek)...
