Greece are back in the "beautiful", if somewhat corrupt, game

This week FIFA lifted their short-lived suspension of Greek football from international competition, meaning that Larissa's Intertoto Cup tie can go ahead this weekend, and that England's friendly against the European champions in August is back on.

Meanwhile, we are expecting the verdict in Italy on the match-fixing allegations involving Juventus, A.C. Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina, generating this fantastic quote from ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi. And when I say 'fantastic', I mean it in the proper sense of unbelievable.

Should Juve be relegated it would hinder other clubs that would lose the revenue they take when they play against a team like Juventus.

One also has to think of the damage this would create to sponsors and televisions companies that have signed contracts with these clubs.

Yep, that is right. The owner of A.C. Milan genuinely believes that if the clubs are guilty, honouring sponsor and television contracts is more important than punishing teams who have cheated their way to the Italian title and into the Champions League.
