Solar eclipse in Greece

EclipseongreektvI must say they certainly know how to entertain us in Greece. Last Saturday in Sami on Kefalonia the whole town put on a parade on for us, and today the welcoming committee has laid on a solar eclipse. We couldn't see the totality from here, in Greece only the island of Kastellorizo near Turkey was in the right spot for that. That didn't stop all the kids in Hania having solar eclipse glasses on today to view the partial eclipse that occurred here.

I have to say it was very partial indeed - although we had read about it on Sunday in the Athens News, I don't think we would have noticed it if we hadn't been reminded by our chatty bar owner friend, or seen the coverage on the TV.
